Ah, Mura...I should've addressed my questions about when directly to you. That was my intention. You can finalize the details in this thread and then we can post it in the Official Events thread. So, next weekend we've got company but I don't have details yet on when they are arriving so Friday might still be open, but not for more than about 8-12 est.

Well, before any decisions are made, the guild has to decide how they want to go about the quest. I've been told it takes an entire day to do the entire bit. So I imagine that means roughly.....12 hours?
So people would have to decide how they want to split it up. That's based on rough estimates of others though. *shrugs* But I imagine it will be a number, nevertheless.

Well, I'd imagine taking it in the relatively bite-sized doses of one quest a night would be ideal, but we'd have to be prepared for failures. Perhaps we could plan on one quest attempt every Friday or Saturday? Also, at this point not everyone has made it to the end *cough* Malae *cough* ... should we set a deadline before we pack up and go? And Delor? You're still in?

I believe a deadline should really be set. Given the fact that GW:EN is approaching, and it'd be nice to perhaps make a profit given the methods before have been quite....slain with ANET's update.
As for well, maybe an attempt one day per week. We'll have to see how it goes rather. I've been told the first of the overlords to kill---Jardoth takes roughly an hour to an hour and a half. I believe Mallyx is the numerous hour one. As I've been told the majority of the time is spent around there (unspecified time).
So an experiment is roughly needed.

Can we experiment tonight or tomorrow night? I know we won't have everyone but if we wait on everyone we'll probably run out of time. And in case it's not been made clear, there is no way most of us can devote 12hours in one sitting to this so bite size chunks is good. Really, only the first leg has to be decided in advance. Depending on how that goes, we pick the next portion and the next date...rinse and repeat.

Well, you're right about the waiting. However, it'd be best to wait for a time when Triia can join, at least. Given she's our tank....
...and since normal mode allows more for tank holding than before in NF, it'd be nice. Especially with our ele count.

I just finished up my last exam! I'll be free tonight and looking forward to killing standing in front of angry beasties.

I don't know if we need another practice night or if we can practice while starting the quests but I'm done with company for a while and really want to get serious about this. I know a few of us spent more money than we thought it would require (mostly Triia) and I'd really like to start getting into a groove and seeing returns (even if they aren't monetary!). So to our not-so-regular-but-possible-joiners I ask, do you have some open time soon and if so when?
I also want to know if I'm now nuking for all DoA quests? If so I'll have some more money to spend, I suspect.

I'm up for it. We certainly need to get the tanking down, and it wouldn't hurt to have an idea what kind of builds we'll need.
Mura, I think Obsidian Flesh on the tank could be handy... then I could cast enchants on her, run far away, and not worry about pulling aggro from hanging around close behind, in case the enchants fall off.
And no, you can't argue that the tank can handle the damage. Triia and I (at least) both saw what happened the first pull, with no enchantments. Ouch.

Yeah.... that kinda stung... I'll make sure I have OF for next time. It certainly won't hurt to at least try it out. From what I could see, I get the feeling that Khunlin had me right on the edge of his bubble and when the beasties went around to get on the side of me or behind me, they noticed the nice tasty monk just a bit further on. If he could be just a little further back, it might work. It makes me very twitchy to see red dots charging towards the green ones and it's hard for me to stand still.

Yeah, I tried to be as far away as possible while still being close enough to rush in and prot once aggro settled, but that wasn't far enough most of the time.

Obsidian Flesh is an option, but it'll depend on the zone and the support. I'm not exactly sure how much earth magic Triia would be investing in---whatever the build is itself. It doesn't last that long even at 12 earth magic, and it well....is costly energy wise. I imagine she'd have to wear gladiator armor and thus lose the extra armor of sentinel. However, my "super tank" option works as well. If I spirit spammed, then it'd probably make that more doable. However, that'd require a blood ritual during battle probably. I tested the correlation between the Spiriteater and Quansong's focus. It works pretty well in battle (well hard mode in Nightfallen Jahai and Domain of Pain being the two test spots), but there are usually wait periods between battles plus if it gets nasty (which it will there)...BR would probably be more readily spam needed. I went with the spam healing because we seemed to need a healer at the time due to our lineup. Personally, the spirit spamming seems good to me. As it's like another excess line of protection spells---they have that wide radius and Triia can go in without as much worry. But I'll go along with whatever. <_< I'm just support---to steal from Healbot Blues:
I was basically spam healing but it wasn't going so well because most rely on be nearing a spirit for that excess boost, and I was fleeing from giant minions for a large portion.
I don't think either is better, and I can't really comment on Triia's handling of my build per say. If she feels more confident with OF that's more for her. >_> I don't really care too much as long as things don't go chasing me while I'm carrying ashes.
I'm just saying the spirit spamming is more correlative to my build---plus I could have given her a vital weapon for an even greater health bonus.
....and back to exam studying I should go.

Are we planning on doing some of this on Friday? If not, I claim it for HA

I'd like to go on with it. Since it doesn't seem like some of the original sign-ups are still able. At the very least, practice would be nice.

Then Saturday will be my HA day (Normally I'd just leave the weekend open for you, but I'm itching to get back in there... we must hold Halls!) Practice sounds great to me... perhaps we could see what we make of the Foundry and their weird gates.
