I think that it would be a lot of fun to have a 1 vs 1 tournament. Maybe put a prize at the end, with a buy-in price of 1k.
Rules: You may NOT switch characters or character professions/secondaries, but you may switch your skills and items to prepare for your next opponent as long as you do so in a reasonable amount of time
You must stay in a neutral area, no using NPC's to your advantage
No lying about who won(after the first round, spectators will be able to watch anyway)
sound fun?

It's an interesting idea, for sure. Empathy + Soothing + Remorse + Complicate ftw vs warriors.

So, PVE or PVP characters? Can you sign up only one character per player? Can we make brackets and place bets?

I think you should be able to use PvE or PvP, as long as you dont switch it out. Brackets and betting were so obvious that I didn't even post them, after all we have some eccentric millionaire HLR members who would bet on anything. Personally I'm going to be low on cash for a while, I found out how to make a drunk bot(from the guy I sold all my booze to, so now I need to buy more )

botting is bad, mkay?
Seriously, though, I'm in, as long as I don't need actual gold to participate. I'm poor now too.

Bot, eh? Explain a bit, s'il vous plait.
The tournament sounds fun; I'll just have to remind myself not to take it too seriously. GW just wasn't balanced for 1 vs 1.

I know, lets set the date while Malae can't be there! ;D JUST KIDDING! Seriously though, lets dust this off and get going either before school starts or aim for a mid-semester break (like we could coordinate school schedules, but you get the point).

I need my laptop sooner! It shipped monday or tuesday, I forget. You cannot have this without me!
Also I think we should have extra people go into each fight to clear the 2 footmen and archer on each side.

T3h OMGawd!
WHY HASN'T THIS HAPPENED, YET?!?!?!
I think pure 1v1 just won't work... GW isn't balanced for that... but how about a little HLR "Hero Arena" tourney? 1 player, three heroes per team... winner wins something. Or we could do a partners tourney... 8v8 with two players each?
It wouldn't even need to be like a one-night thing, either... we could do it over the course of many days ;D Any thoughts?

Yes...like March Madness but lets not wait that long! I like both ideas with heroes and agree that's more what GW is about but am willing to do 1v1 as well. We could do multiple tournaments that way we'd have more winners or someone would certainly have bragging rights.

Fine! I'll organize it myself! No date yet, but here's a little outline of the "rules": - 4v4 (1 Player, 3 Heroes per team) - No abuse of NPCs. Each team will kill the other's footies before the fight, and then no leaving the flagstand area (between the houses) until the fight is over. - No flagstand/thieves. - Time limit: 10 minutes. The team with the most kills at 10 minutes wins. In case of a tie, the team that killed last wins. If no kills have been scored, it's a Guild Lord gank race (To keep cheesy tanking builds down ) - Resurrection Rules: kinda undecided. Either Sigs only, or each team has a human Rebirth Me/Mo with 12 Fast Cast/12 Prot and it's a fight to DP. - It's an elimination tourney, with either 1 match "games" or best of 3... yeah. I'm indecisive. - Builds are not fixed. You can switch builds between opponents, and between matches if we use a best-of-3 system. I might come up with some more later. Of course, what you all want to know: "What do we win?!" Well, apart from never-ending gloating rights... I'm offering (that's right, a Khunlin-Sponsored event. I intend to plaster my name all over the walls and have you all wearing "Khunlin Inc." shirts)... -1st Prize: 10,000,000 thousandths of a gold piece and a snuggle. -2nd Prize: 5,000 GP and permission to be in the vicinity of the aforementioned snuggle. -3rd Prize: 2,000 GP Of course, this may change depending on if I get any more chest runs done and/or find FoW armor lying around on the ground. So say something if you're interested. If you have any ideas regarding the resurrections/best-of-3 things, be sure to speak up. If we get a reasonable number of signups, I'll use an official, tournament-approved random "pile of scraps of paper with names on them on a desk" selection process for the initial matchups and you guys can go at it.
