This is the big thing on the GW forums but I'm not entirely sure it's 100% true, especially from a site called the "Inquirer". www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=37986Looks like we'll be guildies for a long long time! Whether that's good or bad that's up to you to decide

Mmmmmmmmmmmm Somewhere inside I am a bit apprehensive of that much change, but yay it's great to hear news finally! Anyone else find it odd that ArenaNet is not mentioned at all?

The Inquirer is usually pretty good. The article in question is from their coverage of the Game Developer's Conference, so it is probably all publicly available information. The only time the Inq does something questionable is when they start reporting on leaked information and unnamed sources (which they do frequently). Their conference coverage is usually top notch.

That does seem pretty reliable. <_< It means I really need to finish up those prophecies quests with the Titans and all that---which means----sign-up thread time. .....and the race factor is really going to make it crazy. Although I would have preferred a devourer race. Stupid Charr get all the spotlight.

So it's an XL Sorrow's Furnace-style expansion? Sounds like it to me (other than the not-free part) since you have to own at least one of the chapters. I wonder if that means there will be no previews.
I dunno... this sounds a little fishy to me. Maybe there's some misinterpreted information. I mean, "multi-level dungeons" and PvE only skills? That doesn't sound very GWish to me. Do we really need 10 new heroes? Goren and Koss, Jin and Margrid, Olias and MoW... they all just look different. Oh, and "characters will now progress through the game in a more sensitive way"? WTF? Do we get to sit down with a mob of enemies over a cup of tea to talk things out?
*blink*
My goodness... something threw me into full-blown Skeptic Mode. Sorry about that. *ahem*
Forty new armor sets!! New playable races! Snowball fights and sledding! Woohoo!! ;D

I've never played WoW so I cant really say if it's a bad thing for GW to have WoW-like qualities...as long as it doesnt have insane grind.
And I've pretty much have gotten tired of GW's PVE formula, any change is nice to me.

PvE skills (and hopefully weapons) are what I've always wanted in Guild Wars, and their absence is what can make PvE so darn stale.
By the end of the game, I should be able to shoot fingers out of my firetips, for crying out loud. I should be summoning volcanos and calling down Balthazar himself to do my bidding. And I want a wand that shoots METEORS.
Remove the limits imposed by PvP, and you could have skills to possess enemies, temporarily adding them to your party. And polymorphing. It'd be a lot of fun.

"Multi-leveled dungeons" aren't too odd. I imagine it'll be like Urgoz Warren, the Deep, and Sorrow's Furnace in that regard. As for PVE only skills---we already have some in NF. Lightbringer's Gaze, Sunspear Rebirth Sig. Some skills lean one way or the other to begin with....
So they're both feasible.
As for more heroes---well, they're kinda like armor now. Plus---I'm sure there are those who'd favor heroes of a different cultural brand. It is kinda funny carrying Koss and company to Tyria. The first black man to step into a white person's world!
I don't know about the more sensitive bit though. <_< Maybe that means we'll get to make more choices and so forth? After all....we're thus far limited to very trite and stale repetitive actions in terms of the pve story line.

A comment from Gaile: Just a quick word to let you know that we haven't made any official announcements about Guild Wars in, oh, a couple of months. Sure, there's a little *ahem* info circulating this week. But you guys know the drill: Until we say it, it's not official. I can tell you that some of what you've read is right, some of it is wrong, and quite a bit of it is misleading. Unfortunately, we can't offer a fact check quite yet.
The good news is that the top game publications in Europe and the U.S. are preparing feature articles with major Guild Wars news -- I wasn't joking when I said a few days ago that I think it'll knock your socks off. In the U.S., PC Gamer will begin delivery of the May issue to subscribers on March 15, and it will be on newsstands on April 3. European magazines, including Joystick in France, PC Zone in the U.K., PC GamePlay in Benelux, Games Machine in Italy, and PC Gamer in Germany, will reach subscribers and newsstands before the end of March.
Knowing you guys, no matter where you're located, you'll be sharing the info from your regional magazines, and that's great. I want to make sure that I let you know, this isn't some small feature -- I would boldly say that any Guild Wars player would want to buy one of these magazines, subscriber or not! In part this is because they'll offer great articles with a lot of cool info. In part it's because the magazines will give you the chance to adopt your very own exclusive new miniature. Check our website for more info tomorrow!

Eye of the North looks good, but GW2 looks like it will be disappointing so far. I hope I end up being wrong.
