I'm really interested in this game, it looks good. Makes me afraid that they're making Lineage 3, some other game, and this game at the same time, but I have a bit of faith in NCSoft. I'm kinda getting sick of WoW already, and really much prefer to join a game at the start, as I did with FFXI. I'm thinking about joining either this, the Warhammer MMO, or another that I can't remember the name of at the moment.

They haven't said anything about a subscription fee so I'm hoping it'll be free like Guild Wars. I'll play the trial at least (since I'm pretty sure I signed up a long time ago to play the beta of it. Not sure anymore). I wasn't fond of the free Lineage 2 server I played on though so I dunno about their other releases.

Is there any information about a beta for this game?

There isn't anything besides what's on that site really. I imagine there will be a beta but it'll likely be next year, I think.

Man, I'd still love to give this a try. Anyone want to go on the-person-who-watches-for-further-beta-key-give-away-info-because-Triia-will-promptly-forget-until-it's-too-late duty? If anyone else is interested, of course...

Well, I managed to get a key for last weekend. It was a lot of fun (though a bit lonely without you guys) and I'm looking forward to the next beta weekend. I'm still not completely sold on the game, since I'm very, very reluctant to get into a subscription-type mentality of playing. I've heard in Korea that they're selling chunks of hours and if they decide to implement that here, I'd probably rethink things. Anyway, here are a few screenies: Aion TriiaTriia WITH WINGS (!!! )Wheeee!!Brontophants?I also made an Asmodean mage that I'm considering specializing as a Spirit Master. MaataIt's pretty easy to tell when she's less than pleased.Asmodean wings... glossy...Oh, and as far as the classes, you start off as one of four: Scout, Mage, Warrior or Priest. At level 10, you pick one of two specialties. The Warrior can become a Templar or a Gladiator (don't really remember the difference, wasn't really all that interested. I think one tanks better than the other or something). A Scout can become an Assassin or Ranger (pretty much what you'd expect, Rangers don't get pets but they can use traps). The Priest becomes a Cleric (your basic healer), or a Chanter (sounds like a Paladin, in the classic sense, heals and smacks things around... might give this one a try). Lastly, the Mage can become a Sorcerer (basic nuker, I believe) or a Spirit Master (uses "pets", i.e. elemental beasties that sound kinda interesting).

Thanks for sharing your screenies. ;D
It looks a lot prettier than I'd have expected. Also pretty sure it wouldn't run on my computer then. ;D

Another beta going on this weekend. If anyone is planning on joining in (it actually starts this afternoon... or tonight.. or something, I'm not up to doing time zones in my head right now), I'd suggest dl'ing now, since it's a pretty big one and it took me several hours.
By the way, you can pre-order at a GameStop for $5 (I believe) and if you don't like it, you're only out a few bucks.
EDIT: Oops, sorry, it's tomorrow. 7/17

Next beta events:
* Closed Beta Event #5 July 31 - August 3
* Closed Beta Event #6 August 14 - August 17
I mostly played my mage last weekend. She's a spiritmaster now. I got her to the main city and wow... Jupiter, looking back at your comment above, yeah, I don't believe I've ever seen a game quite as glowy as this one. I'll see if I can get a few more screens together.

Oops, forgot to come back and add these: My little chanter. Yes, she WILL wallop you with the big stick. My spirit master finally found a cute little wind spirit. He's feistier than he looks. I attempted to make a panorama of the Asmodean city of Pandemonium. It's rather choppy but the glowiness speaks for itself, I believe. While Khunlin and I were plotting... something, I was messing around in the character creation and may have found ElementalistKhunlin. Looks like she got a little bit of a tan.

K, so apparently Aion has a wonderful feature where you can be standing out in the wilderness, beating up monsters and minding your own business, when Aion announces that "A Rift has been opened!" Then, you can ignore this message, since Aion announces stuff like this all the time and you don't PvP. Then, your computer can lock up for a moment while you stare bewilderedly, since it only does this when there are lots of character models around and you're way out in the wilderness. Then, you can get ganked by a horde of vengeful Elyos lvl 30's on a raid from the portal and res in town to find that group of 30's has raided all the way up to the gates and is killing all of the people who try to leave. Then, you can realize that you have no hope of beating them, because the fortress is about halfway through the campaign and everyone there is about lvl 20.
EDIT: Then, someone can call for their PvP legion to come help, but you can predict that it's not going to work, because their legion is the #3 on the Asmodean side whereas the raiding legion is #2 Elyos, and the Elyos is apparently by far the stronger PvP faction on this server. Every Elyos legion outscores their Asmodean counterpart by a factor of 10 on the leaderboards.
MORE EDIT: Then you can have been kind of right, and it doesn't really work, although you learn a bit about Aion PvP from some guy yelling and get a few kills and Abyss Points in the process (I'm a Soldier - Rank 9? Okay!)... but mostly just end up feeling sorry for the kind of guys who are PK'ing lowbies at 3:00 AM on a Monday, when their characters are going to be deleted in about 9 hours anyway. They're not going to be keeping the Abyss Ranks, and they're not doing it for practice (ganking lvl 20's is much less productive than fighting in the Abyss, I imagine)... they're just annoying and are getting in the way of my leveling!
On a related note, I really don't think anyone can call anyone else a "noob" in a game that's still in closed beta.
