So back to being curious...since we won't have our extra slots for the head start, what is your plan for Factions? Will you being playing the 27th? New character or taking a current character over to Cantha? Other thoughts? I will not be staying up till 3am on the 27th, but I do intend to get on fairly early and check it out, perhaps play sporadically throughout the day (I'm off that day). I will probably create my monk in Cantha just to see the monastery, but will bring over Mokusei pretty early too. I do have to work on the 28th so I won't be on till late that day although, I might come down with something.

I'm planning on just buying a copy from the local GameStop on the 28th I think. Come to think of it I should see if I can reserve the special edition(I won't be denied my sparkly hands this time!) Anyway I don't know if I can travel between Cantha and Kryta or whatever it is so I'll find out before I move any over.
For now this is Delor Mephalon signing off.

No sparkly hands this time Delor, they are fancy dances instead (from my knowledge)

YEARRRRRGHHH!!!!! All of a sudden the collector's edition disappeared! Don't tell me a crap load of people pre-ordered it all! Then again they still had the original collector's edition after 2 months from release... I feel like ripping someone apart with a chainsaw for some reason... Edit: Blarg!! I need those dancing spirits to go with my sexy glowing hands! Oh btw, the special dances are for the ritualist and assassin ONLY, unless they update it in the future, no other class will benefit from the collector's edition of Factions. Anyone who is wondering about playing a day early, I don't know how they will know who ordered the game unless it's the code from the pre-order package. You don't get more slots until the day of the RELEASE. I hope you guys have an extra pvp slot if you plan to play a day early. Edit2: Well it seems the CE has been delayed... No playing for me on launch day. In case you are wondering, I am a collector's edition whore when it comes to games, I just like having the extra goodies.

IT'S JUST NOT FAIR!!!
I predict losing my sanity during that week, I just hope Anet might do something about it (hell, I can dream).

Monkey, the pre-order code is what lets you in early and seriously.. is there anyone without a PvP slot in this guild?
I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do first. I'm really looking forward to starting out and learning a brand new class, but I'm sure I'll be taking one of my originals over very early on.
Triia already has her bags out and made arrangements for someone to water the plants. She's a little concerned about getting her eight-legged beastie into her travel crate though. Ayrenas is looking forward to some early Canthan shopping in the market and Zisis is moping about the possibility of joining the Luxon faction. The Jade Sea is FAR too sunny for her tastes compared to the Petrified Forest.

I'm not sure if I will even get it... I may be quiting because everyone would be going to factions and I wouldnt... we'll see.
It really depends on whether I have the cash, the motivation to play, and the hard-drive space(That last one is a big problem).

*runs to the message boards to see the flame wars* I'm not surprised that they're charging for character slots, but the price is completely ridiculous. So for factions, we're paying $20 dollars for character slots, and $30 for the new content. That explains why this is the only expansion pack I've ever seen retailing for $50. But wait - the people that don't have GW are paying $40 for character slots, and only $10 for the content? They're getting a better deal on all the new stuff! NOT FAIR! Curse you, a.net, CURSE YOU! *starts writing hate mail* EDIT: I'd like to add that even logically, the price is a little out there. If you buy a new account for $40 (what it's going for these days), you're going to get 4 new character slots. This evens out to $10 per character - seems logical so far. But you're also paying for the entire game with those $40 dollars. You could make a lot of arguments to excuse this - "but you're paying for the convenience of having more slots linked to a single account" "of course it's gonna be a better deal if you buy in bulk" - but it seems like just from a PR standpoint alone, the price for these should be kept out of the double digits.

Factions is a stand-alone game, not technically considered an expansion, even thought it is I don't like the idea of paying for slots. It's a shameless grab for money that rivals Oblivion's horse armor stunt. I will be a day early, of course. I've got a pvp slot that i'll fill temporarily.. my first character over in Cantha will be.. a monk! Praetor Delwynn is becoming a reality, so look me up if those hench monks aren't cutting it

Factions is a stand-alone game, not technically considered an expansion, even thought it is True. But even for UT2004, which was a standalone game (and could be considered an expansion for UT2003, but that's stretching it), Epic was good enough to give a $10 rebate to all those who bought 2003.

Yeah, it's pretty overpriced, I won't be buying additional slots. (Factions not included )

lol, this guy on GW Guru said it well:
The main issue for me here is that loyal customers are not only not being rewarded, they're being charged more.

Think of this another way, so far Factions give current owners of GW:P 2 extra slots, now that you can buy more slots A.net might not offer more slots in their future expansions. If they really want to milk money out of our pockets then we won't get more slots in the future when we add new keys into our accounts.
