Hey all,
I think we should give zergbusting a shot when Season 2 rolls around! That gives us the rest of the week to sort out builds/get equipped. Unfortunately, equipment is very important and also very expensive, but I'm sure we've all saved up some serious gold by now!
From what I can gather, the key classes in a zergbusting group (and what we'll have to lean on, as a small group) are:
1) Guardians for healing, stability and condition removal
2) Warriors for DPS and CC
3) Staff Eles for DPS, CC, and healing
4) Necros for condition damage & boon stripping
5) Mesmers for boon stripping and invisibility
I'd like to hit a good balance of these (as best we can). I can run Guard, Ele, or Mesmer!
And I know that we don't have builds posted for most of those, but I think we can figure some out. When making builds and choosing equipment, keep a few things in mind:
1) Not dying is much, much more important than killing anyone. The zerg's weakest (low armors and upleveled) will fall regardless, but one of our downed could rally many of theirs. So builds tend to be very solid (trait splits of 0/0/0/30/30 are common)
2) Focus on group buffs, combo fields, and AoE. We will be in a pile for the entire fight, so even close range buffs will give a big boost.
3) Stability for us, boon strips for them. We need to be able to charge through their walls and static fields without getting stunned, while making sure that ours hit home.
4) Ascended jewelery isn't that expensive in WvW
