Day Z Standalone

So....I was thinking maybe possibly getting this. Don't have any experience with the mod, but what do you guys think? (those who have played and those who might possibly maybe on occasion be interested perhaps)

I've never heard of this. I'll take a wiiiiild stab at it and guess that zombies are involved in some format or another. I'm all lounge-y and ready to go to sleep so I'm far to lazy to reasearch it atm. Perhaps tonight if the pts cooperate. Zzzzzzzzz...

I played a ton and a half of arma 2. Which is where dayz spawned from. Dayz was fun, however....

This game is not at all "arcadish" its very very very much realistic as far as weapon control, physics, and general needs.

it makes battlefield feel like halo in terms of realism. The game can be super slow at times because of how absolutely huge the map is(225 km^2). Its ginormous, simply running from one end to the other can take a good 40 minutes. However, that's not to say that its not super crazy at times, because it is. You can spend all day starting from nothing, work your way up and find a good gun, get stocked, and be rather happy with your 12 hours spent. Then someone comes along, snipes you from 1km out because you stopped to loot someone else you just killed.

All in all, its super fun, however, don't expect not to be incredibly frustrated when something goes wrong. To get good stuff can be as frustrating as leveling to 80 via crafting and then someone has the ability to simply delete your character.
