Hello fellow HLRians. So I was wondering if anyone was interested in setting aside some time each week for semi-official guild events. The idea is as simple or complicated as we'd like to make it but I think it would be nice to (for example) designate Monday as PvP day, in which HLR gathers together at 8:30, makes a decision about what type of PvP folks want to do then is ready to roll by 9:00. Ending time is flexible. We could also have an unofficial official PvE night in which we all gather at say 8:30, hddle up and see if anyone has a particular mission they want to run or skill cap they would like to grab, with some guildies along for company.
So, too much structure or a nice little bit of organization? Days and times listed above are just for illustrative purposes.

I'm all for organization and have often thought a schedule might be appropriate, but if I recall (and I hesitate to put words in other peoples' mouths) it was not the most popular idea. Still a set few nights to do things would help, in my opinion. Even if just a few of us agree on it, others would have to comply if they wanted to be included. I would certainly like to hear more of what people are doing. There's nothing worse than hearing someone just finished something I was trying to do. I tend to announce (in guild chat) any capping runs or missions I'm about to start, but that ususally doesn't give people enough time. Anything large and premeditated I like to post on here and get a feel for if anyone else needs it. Other times I'm at a loss on what to do! We've got a great group that is always willing to help, yet I hear a lot of, well I can hench that with such a character later. No need to hench things when we're dealage and could use the opportunity to passively promote/recruit for HLR! Sorry, got off topic. If I can weigh in on the days, short pve type things on week days. More intensive pvp/grand adventures Thurs-Saturday. Again, all this is just my opinion.

I wouldn't mind nights specified for certain things, as long as everything wasn't restricted. The option to PvP on a night not specified for it should still be there, same for PvE

It seems to me that weekdays we tend to do more PvE and weekends we do more PvP. Just make it official that 1 night a week is GvG/HA night. As for assigning PvE nights...no. I think we need to just get better about posting when we're going to do missions. I refuse to assign a night for such a thing as PvE.

Yes, the idea is to have some time set aside for PvE and PvP on a regular basis. My take on it is that we should block off time on weeknights. Weekends tend to be busy with Anet throwing us some sort of bone and people being on and generally having a plan already. I thought it would be nice to have a PvP weeknight time slot to get us in the groove of regular practice. I like the idea of a dedicated PvE time slot because there is always another mission on one of my characters, and yours too I'd imagine, that it would be nice to get a group together for. These are good times for us to get a fairly quick start because everyone knows its coming.
These 'blocks' don't have to be very big either, a half hour prep time and then an hour for whatever we decide to do. I think that would leave most people with a decent chunk of unstructured time as well for that particular night.
This is all flexible and the word 'mandatory' shouldn't be used, but perhaps 'encouraged' would be a good fit.

I don't think it's a bad idea. I suggested it at one time but in never really got off the ground, what with me and my great follow-up skills . Personally, I haven't had much of a taste for PvP lately (temporary, I'm sure, I had fun last night and I really need 77 more fame), but I do like the idea of having more practice with a casual PvP night during the week and a more intensive GvG/HA night on the weekend. I don't think we really need a PvE night since it seems to be our default activity anyway. Maybe a particular night where we make a point of making sure a mission or two get done? It certainly wouldn't hurt to at least give this a try. What if we just came up with a rough idea of what we'd like to do and see how it works for a couple of weeks? It doesn't seem like we'd be making any drastic changes to our current "schedule" and maybe it will cut back on the flailing a bit. It might catch on, it might not, but we won't find out unless we try it and see what everyone thinks. Why don't we talk about it on vent next time there are a good number of people on?
