I'd like to hear opinions from as many people as possible on this.
I would like to see some new people added to the guild, I think. I'm not too concerned about how many people since I think we should only add a few at a time. When it seems like a good number, we can stop. Keep in mind that recruiting from the forums is time consuming. As people contact us or we contact them, we'll need make time to go through a mission or some quests with them, chat with them, do some PvP or whatever will help us get to know them. It's not that big of a deal, and chances are we won't get a big rush but I was surprised at how much time the last recruiting drive took up (for me, at least).
Alliances are still a big fuzzy blur to me. I'm not really sure where I stand on being part of one. There's some appeal at getting an entire group of people at one time, but we'd also have to take the group as a whole, the good and the bad. If this is something we decide we want, I'll need lots of help getting things going.

I'd like 3-4 more active members within our own guild, since our activity has dropped off a bit. But I still think an alliance is the answer to alot of our problems. As long as all guilds in the alliance we're in agreement about a few things. For one, it's a casual alliance where the guilds come before the alliance. There should be no obligation to play with alliance members unless you want to. Simply a mutual relationship where we can ask for a few players if we need them for something, and they can do the same. I'm not saying we're cold to eachother, i'd like to get to know another guild, but my priorities lie with HLR. Also, that it's a small alliance (2 other guilds our size, max) and that we are in no way grinding alliance faction in hopes of owning a town.

I've made my thoughts on recruitment pretty clear, I'm for it. As for an Alliance, I think it's a good idea. I don't really think the size of the Alliance matters, we just need to (once again) find some like minded folks. I don't think we should be shy about it either, meaning we don't have to think too hard about it because we can always leave an Alliance if it doesn't seem to be working and try a different one. I agree that faction grinding is a definite no go. [Thanks for listening to my pleas and taking action Triia. ]

I think 3-6 additional people would be good, but an even mix of east and west coasters. Also, maybe recruiting all new people shouldn't be our main concern when we have some decent players in the guild already who could easily be HA and GvG ready with a little training. I know Arand and Rhea have been around kind of off to the side for a long time and I was surprised at how good they were when we did Urgoz. I think it's only fair that we let them try HA and GvG scrims before we start recruiting for the spots. As for the alliance, yeah, just a casual kind of "whatever" alliance like we were with Hero back in the day, only I would prefer they were better competition for scrims.

I still think the guild is fine as it is. That doesn't mean I would be upset by any changes, just that I don't think any changes need to be made. I like the slow, organic growth we've mostly had in the past. I made most of my statements in the other thread on recruiting. If we must grow, I think only a few people should be added, or we should join a small alliance. I don't want the guild getting so big that lots of people have to be left out of guild events.

I think passive recruiting should be a constant undertone. What I mean is sub-groups of the guild mission-ing should pick up PUGs here and there or in PVP as well. Sometimes we get lucky and they're decent and looking for a new guild, sometimes not so much. HLR guild groups can usually pull enough weight to overcome any slacker pick up. I also think as we have waves of people dropping off, we need waves of new people joining. I refer to that as active recruiting and if its about time for that, then I intend to help. Concerning alliances, I personally would like to try one. Its not a legally binding agreement so its worth a shot, if it doesn' t work then we leave with our members intact and stories to boot.
