So, I realized a while back that, since I didn't play GW much anymore, surely ANet would have no need for their KhunlinVision(tm). Boy, was I wrong. Apparently, they were so madly obsessed with stalking my every move that they hacked into this forum and have been observing our planned activities. How do I know? I know because it was today, the last update before our planned FoW adventures, that ANet decided to go through with their three-year-in-the-making Shadow Form Nerf. That's right. SF went unchanged (moderately buffed, in fact) through two chapters and thousands of whiny forum posts. What did it take for them to finally have the balls to nerf it? We were going to use it in an organized team build for the first time. Coincidence? I think not. Well, it's not too bad. They buffed the warrior tanks of old. We can always just have a Wammo go full tactics and/or strength or the awesome of mending (w/vampiric weapon, of course!), HH, and VS. ...throw on Holy Wrath/Spell Breaker and enjoy the mobs killing themselves?

Well, the build would have been able to stomp through FoW in HM (lots of extra Shards!) with Shadow Form. Now, I'll be hard-pressed to find a build which can tank the massive physical (Abyssals), enchant disruption, armor ignoring damage (Mesmers) and interrupts (Spiders/Mesmers).
I'll see what I can do before the weekend, but we may have to lose the tank and go with Barrage/Pet (I'm sure that you'll all be disappointed)

Alrighty, I've managed to set my 'sin up with a build that might actually work better than old SF, since it's now immune to the Hundred Blades triggers from the Warriors and can be Essence Bonded/Seed of Life'd by Kiwi for MASSIVE ENERGIES AND HEALTHS!
What now, ANet?! WHAT NOW?!

So.... that went weeeelllllll...
But, in the realm of things-we-can-do-to-improve-it, I think we have -Make something that's 900x faster -Make something that can actually kill all of the mobs in FoW
I think that, if we just get these last few points, we'll be set.... yeah...
So, new build plans?! I wonder what will happen if I don't suggest anything and just wait for people to say what they want to do? My, am I ever scientific!

Well, my main question is everyone still wanting to do it via HM--? Before we could really even suggest builds that'd be a nice item to note since it'd determine what tank type, at least, we'd really want to consider. I personally didn't care much myself since I'm not going for any obsidian set nor do I need to earn any money for any set goal.
At the very least, I think we should avoid anything too spiky. It was quite tedious (at least for me) completely running my skill bar and Razah's.

I think it'd be good to go for HM, since FoW is not that hard (compared to UW quests), and monsters aren't that much harder in elite areas, but they drop more stuff. As for the builds... tell me what you guys want to run! I'm sure I can shoehorn it into a real build... but if you all leave it to me, we're going to be running 5x Dervishes and I'm going to be a total Nazi about you guys following my called targets and it's gonna suck for everyone. I, for one, would like to be able to monk for the first time in far, far too long

I, for one, would like to be able to monk for the first time in far, far too long I'm fine with any build that doesn't require me to be a mesmer/monk/dervish/paragon because they're not on the account that wants the FoW trophy. This build might be fun since we seemed to do pretty good with builds centered around an Orders; it even has some dervishes as a compromise: pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:Team_-_FoW_PhysicalwayIt could use some tweaking though with the recent updates though I'm sure. Plus a swap in for a splinter barrage Rt/R is allowed in case anyone really loved theirs. Though, if we don't mod it I'm not sure how we'd have to adjust it for heroes.

Yeah, I think I'd seen that one... it demonstrates quite beautifully how more physicals=more fasts in PvE That's why, when no one tells me what they want, I just default to as many buffed physicals as we can reasonably fit. However, given that Kiwi and I are our only two real warrior-types, and neither of us ever run frontliners in these PvE builds, I've never been convinced that these are the kinds of builds anyone else wants to run. For all I know, you guys would rather run anything that gets it done quickly over builds involving more Rangers and Eles and such, but I have no way of knowing.

I like fast. I like lots of numbers. I like fun and interesting builds. I like playing my ranger, my necro, my monk. I had a heck of a lot of fun playing that assassin build in UW. I don't consider myself a "real warrior" but that HB warrior was fun. I'm probably not a great warrior, but I'm open to constructive criticism. I can be trained. I could adequately play any of the positions in that build except the paragon. There. There are a few of my opinions (not helpful enough? Tell me what more you need). Off to work! /wave

Thank you, Triia! You win a cupcake!
But, when I said "warrior-types", I meant "people who like to frontline" not "people who are good at frontlining"
It's PvE! Everyone's a badass warrior in PvE! It's just a matter of who wants to do it.

It's just a matter of who wants to do it. I like playing any role as long as I don't have to coordinate spikes. Because when I play a warrior there's tunnel vision; I'm just a berserker, I guess >_>? So I'm fine with killing in the most efficient way possible as long as it gets the FOW trophy on my main account.

It's just a matter of who wants to do it. Well, I can go either way with a warrior... I find some of the builds mind-numbingly boring and some are great. I've been trying to figure out what the difference is, for me. I think some of the hammer builds that take a long time to build up adrenalin and then everything is dead before I can do anything = bad. Builds like the HB warrior, where I can charge ahead and start wailing on things like a maniac = good (I know, I know... Jupiter, Kiwi, or whoever is monking, I have to basically give you guys all the credit for allowing me to do that and I am deeply sorry for the stress I'm sure it causes. That said, I will still go tearing off when the next opportunity presents itself. My apologies in advance ). Yes, I believe you may officially put me in the "people who like to frontline (mostly)" category. Hmm... I seem to be in an opinionated mood. What else can I do for you? Now, when do I get my cupcake? Is it chocolate? I hope it's chocolate.
