I've been banned from GW! And apparently it's permanent. The only thing I can think of that could be a banneable offense is my hardcore AFK gambling.
But I'm thinking it's just a huge mistake on ANET's part since I see a thread of a few others who just got banned for no reason. Hopefully it will all get sorted out....
So I might be gone for a few days....or permanently. Curse you gambling!
EDIT: Ok some good news...apparently a LOT of people have been randomly banned. I'm totally coming back to gamble some more...out of spite.

What?! I don't know if banning works the same way it did in D2... But is your account gone? No more Norm Gnomesmusher?  I sure hope they aren't getting all angry-likes about farming... *Nervously checks account status* |

Well I cant even log in and gives me the CODE 45 message telling me that I've breached the rules of conduct and that the ban is permanent.
I'm pretty sure the account is still intact though. I have my second account but I'd probably quit for good if Norm gets vanquished.
But it looks like it was just a huge mistake. There's a huge thread in the forums where at least a dozen people got banned.
But uhh yeah....You all better behave yourselves! No more naked farming! That's a double offense right there.

This is a travesty! What is WRONG with afk gambling anet? They botch the event and now random bannings? Doesn't impress me much. Don't worry Norm, if you don't get unbanned, i'll pay a little visit to seattle  I'd suggest posting in those threads on gwguru or gwonline Norm, anet employees like Gaile post there sometimes. |

I won't get worried yet though, I'm sure this is just a mistake. There's no way they could ban for afk gambling, and as much as I personally dislike farming, for it to be a bannable offense would be a travesty.

Yeah Gaile's post made me want to SHMASH things. And yes, this is definately a scheme hatched by them Gnomes. They're probably in my favourite gambling spot right now....winning all my tickets and touching my stuff. *fistshake*

Well, Norm, even if you don't get unbanned (Which would be purely ridiculous), is that really worth quitting?! DON'T YOU LOVE US?!
It's really easy to get an account of lvl 20's in Factions, and I'd be willing to help in any way possible if it came to that. An unban would definitely be best, but would it really be so bad otherwise?

Wow....  I read the thread on Guru and it seems pretty obvious. Why can't they just admit that they made a mistake and that they're doing their best to fix it? All the people who posted seemed to be playing when it happened. Even so, I'm feeling all twitchy about my account now but I'm kinda scared to go check. Norm, I think I have an old box of Gnom-B-Gon in the basement somewhere. When I gather enough courage (and energy) to log in I'll be sure to give your ring a good dusting. |
