While it sounds like a great battle cry a la The Tick...I can't quite decide whether or not it needs purchased. Anyone get it yet? And didn't we already have a thread about it?

Hehehe... spooooon! Spore looks sweet. It looks really sweet, but the only things putting me off are the uncertainty of if my laptop could run it, and this supposedly archaic DRM system that only allows you to install it on 3 computers, verified online, and then you have to call EA if you need more computers, and explain why you need it, etc etc. Dunno about you guys, but I have a tendency to upgrade computers semi-frequently... we've hit the 5/5 cap for iTunes, even though you can deactivate older computers, simply because we never really think about it... Still, it looks really fun and I looooved the creature creator and was itching to actually play around with the species I'd created. I just don't know/think if 1 copy would do it should we ever upgrade one or two of the computers, and I don't like re-buying things.

I got it. Most of the reviews are pretty spot on. The gameplay is reaaaaaaaally simple and pretty much mindless. HOWEVER, I had never before played a game that allowed me to let an army of tiki-skirt-wearing ducks take over the universe. I mean, that's worth $50 alone.
So while the gameplay itself isn't that great, it just oozes style and humor, so it turns out to be really fun and strangely addicting.
