And now, conforming beautifully to the system detailed in Kaiser's post... I post a signup sheet having mercilessly denied every comment on possible changes to my build. We run the Balanced!I'd like to give this build a serious attempt, since we know that it isn't a gimmick build and thus we won't be losing because of some concept flaw. I'd very much like eight people for this (seven is okay... Tahlkora can play RC in a pinch), and we're running it high-end GvG style: no superior runes. I've tested every build in there, and they can all be used with only minors and an equipment set pushing their health up to about 600. This should give us an edge against those spikes we were seeing. Position | Person | Potential | Cripslash War | Khunlin | Khunlin, Kaiser | Hammer War | Kaiser | Kaiser | CG Ranger | Ducky | Triia, Jupiter, Kaiser, Drum, Lia, Ducky | Illusion Mesmer | Mura | Khunlin | Reaper's Mark Necro | Drum | Triia, Kaiser, Drum, Lia | SoD Monk | Jupiter | Khunlin, Jupiter | RC Monk | Lia | Jupiter, Lia | LoD Monk | Triia | Triia |
So... Friday, May 18th: 9:00 EDT! Be there, or have your forearms painted blue!

I could play a hammer warrior too, if needed. The "high-end" GvG Khunlin is referring to is in reference to this thread about PvP (though mainly GvG, it seems). The thread ends up degenerating into a lot of posturing and "I know better than you!" garbage, but there are few good ideas in there if you slog through some if it. Now I know, for instance, why I can't and never will be able to play a good protection monk. Hats off to those of you who can!

Yeah, I think the only reasonable contributions are the first couple pages, before Zealotry appears. I don't think there was anything of value after that.
But a note on the RM Necro and Illusion Mesmer: I found in my testing that they can be kinda tricky to play, so I recommend to whoever is picked for those spots that you go out to the Isles and hex some barrels for a while to get a hang of it.

I can do either CG Ranger or the Necro. I'm missing a couple of skills for the Necro, but I'm pretty sure I have the points to get the skills. If I remember right, Triia was pretty interested in the Ranger spot, so I'm all for playing the Necro. And I promise I will practice with it before we start.

Oh, it's ok if you want the ranger, Drum. I sign up for various spots since it's expected but we all know where I'll end up.

9:00 East? D= I can't make it that early, Khunlin... 10:00's the earliest, unless there's a miracle.
I would really like to play the RM necro if no one minds - the build that I "described" to Khunlin is the one my old guild ran in GvG, and I played the necro. I haven't tried the mesmer one yet, but I think I might be to run that one without too much trouble.

Well, do you want health bonus armors or energy bonus armors more so then? I would assume health-based for mine given the innate energy management. In any case, my account still requires 4,000 faction. >_> Perhaps some farming may be needed for other members as well. If you want it perfect---that's my need yet. For minor fast casting and inspiration. As well as for the perfect +30 staff health mods if you're quite concerned on the +60 health. Knock on 2,000 more for 6,000 if you're requiring a superior vigor.

AB is always good. >.> Fort Aspenwood too. That's actually my major source of farming faction.... but I'll admit that I've GvGed without runes, sometimes. >.>

I'll be a potential CG Ranger, if you need me.

I'll be happy to help 'splode trap Zaishen tonight if needed.
And as I told Khunlin, if we get bored holding halls with this build, we'll test my build as a back up plan! Oh and one more thing (a la Jackie Chan's uncle), can we do a quick modification and take it into GvG once or twice? I have found I do care about our guild rank when it's laughably lower than we know we are (just in case we meet x-allies again).

A full crew?!

How convenient to suddenly get a full crew. *cough*
As for the faction farming, I don't want to farm that much unless the health issue is that necessary. <_< Which is why I'm waiting for the overseer's comment.
and Jupiter making things go boom is much faster than AB.

Well, Mura, I'd like you to have at least 560ish health. I found that I was able to go with full health insignias, as long as I brought a +energy set for casting Auspicious Incantation->Conjure Nightmare... which you'll need to bring anyway. Extra energy would be helpful in that build, from what I saw, but try to get a good amount of health since I know that I, for one, like to target nasty things like Migraine Mesmers first on spikes. (Depending on the kind of spike, of course)
And on the GvG testing note: I already have the original GvG form of the build, and that would be the ideal end-result. I just want us to get used to this build... and then, if it works, we'll be good enough at it to push our rank back up to a respectable level.
