I thought that I had posted this, but I was apparently wrong. www.swordofthenewworld.com/There's an open beta coming for the new MMPORPG. I decided to give it a shot....since the armor/appearance style reminds me of mesmers. Mesmers with many powers besides magical interrupts. ;D The open beta begins June 15th for any interested parties.

I did register. They said they'd send another e-mail if I was chosen for the open beta. Haven't gotten anything. <_<

Open beta doesn't start until Friday. I am assuming we'll be getting our keys then. Right now it is in closed beta, but fileplanet members can play already.

I signed up too. I'm not sure if it looks like the kind of game I'd like but it would be interesting to see how another online game worked.

That might be the case but it could be as Monkey thinks as well. They don't have any money for servers like other MMOPRPGs so there likely will be a player cap rate for their server.
It also said 'chosen' so it might be a case where not all of us get to play. We'll find out today or tomorrow, I imagine.

I signed up too. I'm not sure if it looks like the kind of game I'd like but it would be interesting to see how another online game worked. From what I hear, the grind is like any other MMORPG, unbearable to those without motivation. As for the three party system, apparently things die so fast, using multiple skills become pointless. Otherwise it sounds like playing GW with three heroes. Already have my account made and ready to go, damn that huge 3gb client. D:

Grind and only three party members? Bleh. Oh well... the screenshots looked pretty, so if I get in it should at least be fun exploring for awhile.

Well after spending some time with the game, here's my opinion:
The Bad: -HORRID BEGINNING AREA! Holy crap, the tutorial is much worse than GW's. I seriously would skip most of it except for quests with rewards. -Untranslated stuff! This is related to the tutorial where images and other minor stuff are still in korean. Also the text is unalligned, which means certain words are cut. This is especially annoying when certain skills require a certain amount of items AND THE AMOUNT REQUIRED IS CUT OFF!
The Good: -Very easy to play and understand. Combat is mostly automatic since you're controlling a party with their own AI. Only skills must be manually used. In fact, since combat is automatic, technically it's possible to leave the game on in area with respawning monsters to do some afk leveling. -Lots of classes! Don't be fooled by the classes you can pick at the start, as you progress you can earn class cards to unlock even more characters! The first one you can get allows you to create town guard characters! -EXP Cards! Want to replace a team member, but don't want to go through the agony of leveling a new guy while the rest of your team are high levels? Use EXP cards! They are consumable items that automaticly give a certain amount of exp to a specific character. Divide them equally amount each member or have one use it all at once to create an early high level killer. -Instant missions! There are certain NPCs that give quests where you are warped to your own instant dungeon to complete a certain task. Great alternative if you don't feel like competing with others to complete a quest.
BTW, I play on the first server current, whatever it's called...
Edit: BTW, if you haven't realized by now, each character levels individually. Not sure if exp is divided among each party member equally or what.
Another thing, a character cannot die until everyone in your team dies. A green bar will pop up over a fainted character's head and when it fills up, he will come back to the fight with around 33% health. What does this mean? Have at least one tank in your party if you want it easy. Of course having 3 elementalists spamming nukes is always more fun. ;D
I prefer a firing squad though. >.>

Sounds good with the bad stuff being understandable since it's beta-work yet. I really hope I get picked. :3

The game reminds me of Ragnarok Online, including the music. The skills are rather odd. Every class have multiple stances, as you progress in that stance, more skills are unlocked. Each character can only have 5 offensive and 3 defensive skills. By changing stances, you can alter between skills freely. You also get skill points to level a specific skill. So far the only useful skills are AoE type skills since everything dies so damn fast, except for specific special monsters. There doesn't seem to be a recharge time for skills, only a casting time. Healing in the game is rather interesting. You can either heal by consuming potions or foods, otherwise monsters drop instant healing items when they die. Picking it up with distribute the healing equally among each party member. Edit: Ok no more information for now, IMMA NAPPIN! BTW, female elementalists have big melons. Delicious fanservice!
