It's true! I've been playing WoW for the past few days and it's pretty fun. I'm not planning to ditch GW or anything, anytime we have a GvG planned or a guild activity just give me an IM and I'll be online. The purpose of this thread though is to see if you guys would like to join me for some WoW buttkicking. I think you can download a 10 day trial to test it out, so if you guys ever feel like giving it a shot name the time and place and we'll have some HLR fun in WoW

You can buy gamecards at your local store, no need for a credit card

I still have a 14 day trial I've been hanging on to. WoW scares me. I'd like to check it out, but.... one addiction in my life is enough for the moment. I try to tell myself it would be ok, since I can't really afford to buy it right now or pay a fee anyway. Plus, Oblivion is supposed to be coming out soon (gotta save up for a new video card!), and I keep hoping to hear rumors of Chapter 2's release date. I get bored pretty fast with repetitive games, and I've heard there's a lot of that in WoW (farming and such). Surely I'd get bored in two weeks...right? Eh... I don't know what I'll do. When and if I decide to, though, I'll be sure to let you know, since it would be much more fun to start it up with someone I know that can show me the ropes.

World of Warcraft is a piece of dung in my opinion, it proves that 5 million people can be wrong. And Tiny...I got bored in 3 weeks if that helps The quests are just so damn repetitive, "Can you collect 10 frogs legs for me, oh and when you come back can you get 5 bear pelts as well...and while you are at it can you get 5 vials of spider venom please?".

Here's a good reason not to like WoW: infernix.net/wowban/ Guy got banned without warning for running on Linux. Now Blizzard won't own up to their mistake. Just goes to show you that grinding is a stupid gameplay technique, and a game that requires you to pay to grind is pretty much crap.

Yeah, WoW is the devil. I played it for about 20 minutes during open beta. I was thoroughly underwhelmed. I will say that WoW is the pinnacle of 1st gen MMO's. But grinding is not content. I also thought the graphics, which I saw as stylish before release, looked dated already. The idea of leveling up to 60 (or more) sounds more like a job than a leisure activity. Three cheers to Anet for going the other way with GW(remember the level cap was 40 in beta).

After about 2 months, i just cancelled my account. Despite many promises that the game get's good once you hit level 15, it isn't true. I hit level 15, and then 16, and then 17, followed by 18. Game still sucks. Stick with Guild Wars.

I hit level 40 like two weeks ago, and strangely haven't played the game since... yep, I'm bored with it

Aye, exact same thing with me. I got to 20-ish on a Hunter, then created an Undead Mage, go to 40...cancelled. I joined it for PvP, and I know it does get good at 60, but the PvE did not interest me one bit. Which is why I came to GW, seperate PvP and PvE. <3 it. Edit: As most know, though, I came from FFXI, which actually has more grinding than WoW, believe it or not. The only reason I enjoyed it more was the fact that you had to party to level....and I buy MMO for the interaction, else I could just play a normal RPG. While you party some on WoW, it just felt that the main leveling part was almost always solo (or at least faster solo, as I made 40 by the time some made 25). The people are the reason I stayed on FFXI, and you guys are why I'm still around on GW .
