Spawned from Khunlin's bizarre skillbars with people or body parts, I've thought may times recently that we need a competition where you use a possible (however improbable!) skill bar to illustrate...a story! Rules: Open to anyone on the forum and current Alliance members (who then must be members of the forum ). Enter as many times as you want. Must include a screen shot of a whole ingame or gwshack type skill bar. You don't have to use all 8 slots of course but we want the screenshot to be the whole bar and nothing but the bar. Throughout the story you may use icons from said bar if it helps in the telling. Text is encouraged but if the story is understandable from the icons and better without words, it may be omitted. Reward: What would motivate you? I'll put up 10K, and perhaps I can get some guild funds to fluff it out a bit. Deadline: We can't have it drag on forever so how about April 26th since sometime around there should be the 3yr birthday celebration. Do you want to post to this thread (or dedicated one) as you come up with them or shall we keep them secret and then have a grand reveal? Did I leave anything off?

By "possible" skill bar, do you mean it must be of at most two professions, one elite and three PvE skills, or just that we can't draw in our own pictures?

Yes. If someone has a good impossible one then it can be submitted for amusement but not for judgement. Oh crud, a judge, that would be good. Where's Logo?! He'd be a great judge!
EDIT: Wow, I type that and lo' he's online! Hi Logo! Hi Triia! *waves*

Very cool idea - I wouldn't mind judging it at all. Keep in mind that it would also work to have everyone vote on their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choices, though, assuming there were enough people and enough entries. I'm afraid I might be horribly biased towards stories about green gloves and fantastic hair.

So, are we limited to a story involving eight skills? Can we tell a story using multiple bars? This concept intrigues me.
And yes, guild funds can add to the fluff.

How about a story has to be 8 skills but you can chain stories together (like chapters?) because you aren't limited to 1 submission? I don't have all the answers so whatever you guys want to do, as long as it stays fair, is fine with me.

Ah here's that long lost thread. Reminder to keep an eye out for skill icons to use! *rubs hands* I FINALLY have an idea!

Mine is complete and ready to go. It isn't very good, but that's how these things go. Should I post it now, or should I wait until the 26th?

Well, the 26th came and went without anyone answering my question, so I will go a head and post my entry for this contest. Do I win by default if no one else posts one?

"Then she curled up in a ball and cried." I think it wins even by... not... default. Good stuff. ;D

Sorry, work's been...crazy busy. Keep them coming if you've got ideas. Kaiser gets my 10K for meeting the deadline and I'll let guild funds go to the best overall once everyone who wants to participate posts theirs.

Double posts ftw! I got mine together... The SceneCredit goes to IMDB for the quotes and Kaiser for the leg work.
