I thought we'd have more entries. I'm guilty of not finishing my lore with my only excuse being that I'm a habitual procrastinator and I ended up with a unexpectedly busy weekend... After some discussion last night, we decided that instead of extending the contest again, it would be best to finish out this contest and have another one in the near future. Please vote for your favorite lore by Wednesday night. We'll have an award ceremony on Thursday night. (If anyone has a good idea for something fun to do for a ceremony, please let me know. We need a few new HLR traditions.)

Kaiser's surpasses mine on most levels... but the writing style confused me at some points. Besides that, it is commendable that he was able to keep the same writing style throughout without screwing up. Well done, Kaiser! (I've already started on The Misguided Archer II)
Meh. I know it's voting, but I suppose this thread could also be replied to in order to tell the authors what we liked about their story and how they could make it better. I know I could have used more detail, and I'm working on that for the sequel.

I'm sorry I didn't get my lore in, I meant to, and I really have no excuses. On to the voting! (sorry Random.)

Bah! nothing to be sorry about. I know that his is superior. I'm just afraid my new one will end up like Triia's Desperate Measures... I've already gotten up to 7 pages and I've only gotten through half of what happened in Chapter 1 of the first one. There is a lot more detail in this one, and I expect to do better in the next contest. Practice makes perfect.

Yeah I'd like to join in the next contest, though I am a comedy writer. Whenever I attempt something serious, I just can't finish it (just get bored to hell, I can easily get inspired to write comedy...whilst I have to force myself to write anything else).

I had a lot of fun writing my lore. King James English is good for a laugh every now and then. This will probably be my last lore for a while since I am terrible at coming up with ideas to write about (Dammit Jim, I'm an engineer not a novelist!). I had been mulling this one over in my mind for quite a while before it took shape.
Random, I don't think your lore lacks detail at all. I was impressed that you were able to work your characters' backstories into the activities of the guild. My lore may be winning the polling right now, but I think your ideas and style will pay off big time down the road.
