I guess I should give an update. I'm busy lately. Really busy. That is all. Thank you.

Been moving and having issues setting up internet lately. Finally done, but I can't get EN until at least mid September, but i'd still like to finish Nightfall if those who were with me do. I'll be back around GW again but i'm going to keep guild chat off so I don't overhear spoiler type stuff, but feel free to whisper me if you need me.

Well, my awayness is heresay at the moment but it boils down to this:
I have a slew -a very big slew- of papers to write and some important dates to correlate them around.
This Sunday, I shall be heading out to Six Flags with some friends [one was kind of sick--so maybe not]
...and next weekend (Friday-Sunday), I shall be at Anime Weekend Atlanta.
So my appearances for non-group activities shall be likely spastic and heavily on my mood (well besides the Fri-Sunday con bit, you've mostly lost me there).

Friday night (9/28) we are probably not going to make it on. Saturday (9/29) we should but may be late. Next weekend (10/5-9) we'll be on our annual trip to Busch Gardens so won't be on then either. See? Next weekend (10/12-16)...annual trip to Bush Gardens. I'd like to say I'll be thinking about you guys but I'll be too busy screaming my head Kaiser's ears off on my favorite roller coaster!!! Alpengeist>>GW Gryffon...well it's scarier than GW, does that count?

OH NOES KHUNLIN POSTING IN THE GOING AWAY SECTION?!?!
I'M GONNA BE GONE FOR A WHILE TO FIX MY BROKEN CAPSLOCK
Not technically going anywhere, but my workload has slowly been growing, while somehow the length of the day has stayed the same. As such, I'm not gonna be on GW every night, so if you need to contact me, use AIM. This is mostly directed at Lia, since she's the only one who'd normally be yelling at me every night and doesn't use AIM. (Don't worry, Kaiser and Jupiter, I'll probably still be sitting on Vent when you guys are logging in... for the time being.)

I have a number of papers to write by the course of Tuesday. So I shall likely be away. If an important guild function is happening, I may join in if alerted by MSN. Elsewise---I shall likely be away unless I really can't find another way to take a break from the papers. So I probably won't be around until Tuesday.

I'll likely be on less for the remainder of this week ('till Friday) if at all. I have a 6-12 page paper due by Friday and possibly a script adaptation of "A Rose for Emily."

So, I'm away indefinitely at the moment. Experiencing some pretty bad computer troubles. About a week ago, I was playing WoW when it completely froze up, and I was forced to do a hard restart. After that, any time I tried to open any graphical application, I would BSOD after a minute or two, with the stop error 0xEA (Thread stuck in infinite loop), which pointed towards nv4_disp.dll (my nVidia driver). My minidump logs would point towards that or nv4_sys.
I've tried messing around with my drivers, but it's been difficult...my laptop is an AlienWare, and they only have a single driver out for my nVidia GeForce Go 6800, which I have had the entire time, so I doubt it is my drivers. Did a full reboot of my computer, didn't help at all. Been researching solutions for quite a few days ago, but this error seems to be caused by a huge number of problems, so I am at a loss.
It's slowly narrowing down to simple hardware malfunction. I am going to run a memory test here in a the next couple of days, maybe that will show something. I also have an appointment at the CS help on campus, but I doubt they will be able to tell me anything I don't know. I'm just taking it for them to look at the hardware, as I did take my computer apart, but I do not know much about hardware, so I had no idea what I was looking for.
Long post, but just posted most of my problems in case anyone might know a solution I haven't found yet. If anyone might want to know more about my problems, as they think they might know a solution, just sent me a PM with what else you want to know, and I will gladly tell you >.>.
I really do miss playing with you guys, hopefully I will be able to fix this problem soon. If it is a problem with my graphics card/mobo, though, don't expect me around for a few months ; ;.
Have fun a good luck! I will still of course come around to the forums often, and I might actually start making long posts (as this is my longest post thus far!)
Edit: Well, somewhat good news. I finally got hold of some blank CDs, and ran Memtest-86 a few times. Definitely looking like its simply my RAM. Going to take it either to a friend or to a shop, depending on how lazy I am, and have them take a look at it and/or replace my RAM. Which is good news to me, as I wanted to update it at some point lol.
Edit2: Well, my friend managed to mess up my computer even more before I got the chance to check to see if it was the RAM. Since I'm back at school now (and extremely, extremely broke), I didn't get the chance to get any sticks of RAM and caved in, so my computer is now at a shop. Should be getting a call telling me what's wrong with it any day now, and then we'll see how long it takes to actually fix it. Hopefully I will get my computer fixed at some point this year -.-

I have a Go 6800 too, and you can use any official nVidia driver with it. You just have to modify the .inf file. laptopvideo2go.com has laptop-compatible drivers with pre-modded inf files. Try getting the 163.75 drivers from there. They work well for me.
When you install them, do a clean install. This means: 1.) Uninstalling your current drivers from the control panel. 2.) Booting into safe mode. 3.) Using a driver cleaner program to clean out all remaining video card driver files (this might get rid of a corrupt file or something). I recommend Driver Cleaner Pro. 4.) Boot back into normal mode and install the new drivers.
Hope this works for you.
And yes, I am a nerd.

Aye, did something of the sort, Logo, but don't think I did it fully on accident, and then spaced on retrying it ><. I will give it another go, as I already have pretty much everything you mentioned. I'm still skeptical on it being the driver, as I've had the same driver for over a year, and as far as I can recall, I didn't install -anything- that could have caused anything like what happened. I hope beyond all hope it works though >< Thanks!

Going to be away for a while yet due to my PC's death. Took me about a week of looking to find out what was wrong with it after it crashed during Frostmaw's Burrows. Apparently I need HP's Recovery Discs because my HD image is corrupted to an extent. Tried ordering them Monday, but HP had all kinds of computer problems---and an attempt to order from their online store resulted in like a $10 charge over two credit cards because of a failed validation error of which are being disputed by my relatives who told me to use their cards. I'm going to try over the phone today and see if I can get it ordered later. It's still supposed to take 1-2 days shipping. So I'll let you guys know when I'm at least redownloading all the updates.

Update:
Recovery disks didn't work, and I ended up taking it to a tech guy. He's confused as to what's wrong. Said the motherboard appeared damaged--how I dunno. Said he'd call me and let me know if it's worth repairing and doesn't cost half a new tower. Given the combination of this plus one of my dogs being held at the vet for renal failure--it's uncertain when I shall return.
