Alright, I was gonna do this in PM with Kaiser and Triia, but that'd get messy and complicated and this way people can watch how much fun we're having and be way jealous!
So, with Triia's work schedule, it looks like this week is out. Next week, Wednesday is the only day that'll work with my schedule, and then maybe again on Friday?
I say we do Prophecies, 'cause it's the most bestest imo, but that's up for debate.
I was actually pleasantly surprised by how hard it was when I took my wee warrior through with nothing but Proph skills and henchmen... took a bit of playing with builds and some strategery to get through some of the missions. It might be easier with two other people, but we could be in for a challenge! As far as classes... as long as we don't all pick Mesmer or something, anything should be fine, so pick whatever you feel like playing! I recommend something that's at least a little diverse, so you're not stuck with one build (my war went axe, hammer, or sword for certain missions and when she got shiny new skills).
I'm not going to bother making class recommendations, since I've realized (it took what, four years?) that not everybody likes the same stuff I do... so just take a look at the Prophecies skills and pick for yourself!

<----- Yeah, I see what you did there.... well, under your name, anyway.
Ok... thinking...
Elementalist - Possible... stick with only one element? Mesmer - Probably no. Monk - I tried a wee monk using only prot skills. Not sure I want to do it again, but it's not out of the question. Necro - Might be fun. Ranger - Could there ever be another Triia? Warrior - Probably no.
I'm reserving my final decision until I know what you guys are thinking about but it looks like I'm leaning towards ele, necro or maybe monk.

I was initially planning to go warrior or monk, but I feel like I always do that. I do it because it's fun, but I think I might go midline this time.
I intend to take a closer look at skills before we go, but I'm leaning towards Ranger or Ele, with Necro and Mesmer pretty close behind.

I might crash this party, just to warn you. I need to pull myself out of my funk and thrashing through GW might be just what I need. I'm available pretty much any night so I won't be delaying anything except being on slightly late (9am est) on some Wednesday nights.

I was thinking of trying to finally learn how to actually play as a monk, but I remember how difficult that is to do with a limited number of skills. So now I'm leaning toward either a necro or a ranger. When I took my necro through the first time, he wasn't all that spectacular (mostly because I didn't know what I was doing), and skills have definitely changed in the meantime. I have never truly played a ranger as a ranger, so I thought maybe that would be a change of pace. Then I remembered bunny thumpers, and I thought that might be a lot of fun as well. So I may try a few things out on my own to get a feel for what is most interesting.

An attempt at an unbiased opinion on proph monking: the limited number of skills is actually helpful, since the low-level healing skills are so terrible that you must prot to live (especially if your team is intentionally giving you a hard time). They give you Healing Breeze as your only real red-bars-up option, so you must rely on and master the Holy Trinity of Prot Skills: RoF, Guardian, Shielding Hands... all of which are given to you in Pre. We can, of course, make do with a hench monk. I just don't want you to discard monking because you don't think it'll be worthwhile (whether or not you'd enjoy protbotting is another matter entirely)

The talk of pre has just reminded me... we can only have groups of 2 in presearing. So should we make a pact to go through pre at no higher than level 8 or something, then meet up in Ascalon City? Or maybe we could all get to 8 then try to sync the PvP section. Thoughts?

I figure we'll probably all be on Vent, just broken into two pairs. We can probably sort something like that out, though. I hadn't been planning to spend much time in Pre, but there are three of you and one of me, so I'll hang around and do quests and whatnot (I intend to pick up lots of skills)
I think what you might be asking is... do we all do Pre on Vent together, or do we all get to 8 and then meet up the first night to do PvP and go into Post?

This tempts me, now, if only for the challenge of it. Should we try to narrow things down to our top two classes? I know, it probably doesn't matter. Or... we could go with a theme... team (*snicker*) and go with a team of all beast master rangers, vile necros or saucy mesmers? Grab a hench monk and hope for the best? Oooo... that could be challenging. For the record, I think, now, my top to selections are Monk and then Necro (pleasenotethisopinion (YES, AN OPINION) issubjecttochangeatanytime). And Jupiter, why the funk? This makes me sad and we must work to fix it.

Funk is mostly because Kaiser is traveling M-F (sometimes more). And I've not found any suitable substitute for my evening time since GW by myself has never interested me. I've been surfing and crafting which is fine but gets kinda stale after 9 weeks. *sigh* I am over analyzing class here - I'd like to play something I've never taken through Pre. That eliminates R, E, W, N (I rushed a necro through once for skills and deleted her). That leaves Me and Mo. Neither of which gets me psyched because I had reasons not to start those in Proph (namely hair styles and faces). And now that I think of it, I have taken a Mes through, I deleted her to have a PVP slot when we first joined the guild. Perhaps I should do a sub-class I've never done...like...FIRE I'm also up for a theme team! Especially if there might be a name theme involved.

I had been pondering the possibility of a theme team (all eles or something)... it would be extra ... errr... "interesting" since there are four of us now. How's getting to Northern Shiverpeaks with no monks for an epic adventure? We can always bring one monk, if we're boring...
But we DEFINITELY need a name theme!

Okay, we must decide whether we want to go with some all-of-one-class team or all pick classes individually (can still be pairs or so of the same class, of course) Options: All warriors, possibly W/R with pets (R/W could suffice, as well) with name theme involving anger, manliness, Sparta, or (for dainty female warriors) irony. All Rangers would be difficult due to the redundancy (damage isn't redundant, but support sometimes is) All Necroes could be difficult but doable with death, curses and whatnot. No ideas for name theme but the potential is there All Mesmers... difficult unless we use some secondaries. Posh British/Victorian name theme? All Eles... easily doable thanks to class flexibility... name theme for 3 eles 1 monk: FIRE, EARTH, WATER, HEART? All Monks... very difficult but possibly adorable These are just suggestions, of course! I'm still very open to picking classes individually (as long as there's still a name theme)

How's Wednesday, then? I'll be hoping to get home at about 5:00 GMT-7... I won't honor your crazy, arbitrary time systems by trying to convert that.

By my reckoning, that makes it 8:00 EDT. I could probably start by then.

I probably wouldn't be available until at least 8:30, but Wednesday will work for me.
I still DON'T KNOW what I want to play! I'm truly trying to come up with the stirrings of an opinion but... nothing yet.
