This needs to be posted! Nick, Rebekah and I ran around with KoME Saturday night. It was a ton of fun with wild rampaging, keep taking and borderland jumping. But then... it happened... Our group ran up to Red/Blue/Greenlake tower (I have no idea what BL we were on at that point). It was not ours but it wasn't guarded. Chili obviously wanted to be off after bigger prey so we hesitated at the gates for a second and then it came over TS... "We need a few people to stay here and take this. HLR, you got it?" We had been called on, we were on a MISSION (HLR ALPHA TEAM GO!!)! The horde ran off and we, along with about three others, dropped a flame ram, got through the gate and took the keep. Awesome! I'm a little fuzzy at this point (in my defense, it was very late, we were very tired and I was possibly a little hypoxic after our hysterics on mumble after being given our orders). We decided to run off after the main group and headed out of the tower. I think we may have been trying to chase down a few red names, perhaps. In any case, a few red names turned into a large blob of red names. We bravely ran away and took shelter in our recently taken tower. Things happened very fast at that point. The blob started in on our gate, we grabbed supply and in a desperate stand threw down an arrow cart. At some point during this, Nick announced in map chat "20 FA at Somecolorlake Tower!" We got our cart built and I jumped up on the wall to throw down a meteor shower. I dodged back to avoid the red circles and missed it... the KoME cavalry arrived! They swarmed out of the tunnel to the supply camp. In the time it took me to get myself straightened out and back to the wall... everything was dead except a few stragglers. At that point, I'll admit, there were more hysterics on mumble. We were called on a bit later for another mission that didn't go quite as well. It wasn't our fault though! And there was some awesome scheme involving about 80 omega golems and a slew of mesmers. Whatever it was, it didn't quite come to fruition but it was exciting during the planning stages. All in all, a great night. |
