I hate chefs...a lot. They never do their own dishes, use as many dishes as humanly possible, and seem to always be getting in the way.

Our Jack Russel hates any kind of reflections on the walls. She'll attack them for hours.
This is especially frustrating for her (and funny for me) when it's the reflection from her own collar. Somehow, it always seems to move just a bit faster than her...

Free lunches with free cookies are...beyond words apparently.
A funny story about the cookies: I lean over peering into the clear tub'o'cookies to make sure I won't get the nutty ones (what a waste of chocolate and dough!) then reach in as my focus goes to the Cokes (blech, I'm not a Coke person but beggars can't be choosers) I grab the top cookie careful not to touch any others. As I'm moving toward the drinks and plates, somewhere in my brain it registers that this is a massively heavy cookie. I start thinking geeky thoughts about density and how good some store bought cookies can be, plop it down on a plate, pour my drink and start walking back to my cube (yes I relate to Dilbert all too well) when for the first time I look down at what I picked up and realize I've got not one cookie but a stack of them that stuck together. Duh! So that's why it was so heavy! And do I take the other back, heck no...that's what I'm stuffing my face with now. ;D
How's that for random? Cheers!

I'm not sure, but it sounds like she's high on sugar and rambling...I'll try to translate: Free lunches are good. I like cookies. A funny story about the cookies: I don't like nuts in cookies. I don't like Coke. I grabbed a cookie. It felt heavy. I'm a geek. I got a drink. I walked back to my desk. The cookie was heavy because it was more than 1. I decided to eat them both to increase my sugar rush and chance of diabetes, and to crash tonight when we want to GvG.

So... "Cokes" are not, in fact, cookies of some odd Southern species ?

Coke, for me, is a generic term. Kinda like Xerox (was) and Kleenex (still is). Your term for it would be pop. The Southern term is soda. In this instance, Jupiter is referring to products from the Coca-Cola company. She doesn't like Coca-Cola or Diet Coke, which were probably the selections at her free lunch.

People who call it "pop" are nerds.

Note to self (and anyone else): always check the security of the cotton on the end of Q-tips before inserting in ear...
EDIT: way to waste your 800th post Khunlin.

I wasn't. Not at all. And Kaiser, I understand now... I misinterpreted things when I first read her story. I thought she meant she was still looking in the tub'o'cookies at the time. I see that looking away at the detested Coke products were what cause her to lose focus on the singularitiness of the cookie. I feel that I'll sleep much better tonight now.

Random requests to fly to Little Rock, AR for a big day long meeting make me unhappy. And...they want me to take a cab ...I've never done that!
